The City of Richmond has a fascinating history. It is located in the Central Virginia Region and bordered by Henrico County (to the north) and Chesterfield County (to the south) and bisected by the James River. The overall Richmond Metro area is generally considered to be comprised of City of Richmond, Henrico County, Chesterfield County, Hanover County, New Kent County, Powhatan County and Goochland County.
Many of the homes in Richmond date back to the 1700’s with the majority of homes constructed in a period from the late 1800’s into the middle of the 20th Century. The urban core of Richmond saw the growth of apartments and condominiums which began in the early 2000’s in many of the downtown neighborhoods.
